Accountant - Gilmer, TX

A Gilmer, TX manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Accountant. Qualified candidates will be responsible for analyzing and preparing Journal Entries, General Ledger and analyzing daily costing transactions. Responsible for preparing internal reports regarding cost variances (labor, purchase prices, bill of materials, freight, etc.) and budget variances; actively participate in improvement of procedures and processes; reviews excess and obsolete inventory and assist with the monthly close process and annual budget process.
RESPONSIBLITIES, include the following.
Analyze daily costing transactions
Responsible for account coding accuracy
Actively participate in improvement of procedures and processes
Review and report excess and obsolete inventory
Accuracy of FIM tables (Financial Integration Module)
Assist with preparation of budgets
Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing
Review all variances / exceptions, explain and resolve
Responsible for assisting with weekly / monthly / yearly closing activity
Enforces the Corporate Controllers manual
Responsible for Journal Entries and General Ledger analysis
Prepare internal reports regarding production, capacity and efficiencies
Accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as directed
All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary
REQUIREMENTS

Required Degree in Accounting
5 Years' Previous Experience in a Product / Manufacturing Accounting Environment
Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication Skills
Familiarity with MRPII


This is a Direct Hire Position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
